Smix is a licensed professional DJ company in Durban. We have a genuine passion for music and this is driven by the founder Kelvin Smith, a.k.a. He is also a respected instructor, having taught the likes of Mark E Mark and MD who are now both regular DJs at the Fun in the Sun outdoor music festival in KZN. The company staff and guests seemed to really enjoy themselves on the dance floor and, as such, we managed to capture a ton of great photos of the action. Apart from the meetings which took place at regular intervals, there was an auction of various memorabilia, live music and even some volleyball. Smix was there to provide a sound system and recording service for the main meetings which took place in Natalia's large hall. We also had the live musicians play through our system. We also provided our free photography service for the colourful photo booth that was set up and we snapped a ton of great photos of the constant buzz on the dance floor. There were glo-sticks being paraded everywhere which looked really cool and the energy was intense all night long, with planned dance routines taking place, some breakdancing, the Harlem Shake and even a dance-off! We also managed to get some great video of this, so stay tuned for that. The parents also got involved with The Rocky Horror Picture Show and then stayed on the dance floor for a few more numbers. DJ Vido had tons of requests from the kids for current dance and hip-hop hits, which he had no problem delivering. It was a lovely ceremony which ended with one of the guests singing a touching ballad to the newly married couple. The weather was absolutely perfect which allowed everyone to really enjoy the lovely garden area at Orchid House both before and after the ceremony. As an unplanned extra service, we used our ceremony speaker on battery power to play background music in the garden area whilst everyone was chilling before the start of the wedding reception. We also supplied our usual arrangement of Chauvet LED lighting and smoke machine for the dance floor. The speeches were great and guests enjoyed themselves with fun at the photo booth between meals. As always, we supplied our very powerful cordless Sennheiser microphone for the priest. There was light rain throughout the proceedings, however that didn't stop the dashing couple from having a great ceremony. For the reception, we once again used four EV speakers placed on each corner of the dance floor area. This allowed for great coverage with background music and speeches, and it allowed us to provide a surround sound experience for dancing. Our usual combination of Chauvet LED dance floor lights once again provided great colours and ambience on the dance floor. It was another great evening of dancing with many requests for R & B as well as hip hop. What another great wedding with Charles and Joey at Netherwood in the Natal Midlands. We supplied a great sounding combination of four EV speakers placed on each corner of the dance floor which improved coverage for background music and created an immersive experience for dancing. The couple also hired our low lying fog machine for their first dance. It was a great wedding and guests were dancing until the very end of the night. The most popular requests from the dance floor were hip hop tracks and DJ Vido had no problem putting together some sick hip hop mixes to satisfy the crowd!
