Wakefields Property Management is responsible for the management of the affairs of over 560 Sectional Title and Share Block developments throughout KwaZulu Natal. PROPERTY MANAGEMENT The Company has been actively involved in property management since the inception of Share Block and Sectional Title Schemes. Our Portfolio Managers are all professionally qualified in the field of property management and are ably assisted by experienced support staff. We utilize property management and financial IT systems developed specifically for the industry. We are registered with the Estate Agency Affairs Board, thereby providing peace of mind regarding management of our clients' financial affairs. There appears to have been a number of incidence of fires in buildings of late which is a real risk especially for multiple storey and high rise buildings. KwaZulu Natal's leading provider of specialist, professional property management services to Sectional Title and Share Block schemes and Landlords of residential, commercial and industrial property. With the advent of the Share Blocks Control Act and (still later) the Sectional Titles Act, Wakefields became actively involved in the management of developments established in terms of these two Acts. By that time, property leasing was already a well established facet of the Company's activities. In 1998, the decision was made to separate the residential sales and property management arms of the Company as the portfolio of the buildings under management and the letting activities had grown to the extent that it had become clear that a dedicated property management company was required. Although some of the accounting and administrive functions of the schemes managed by the offices have been centralized at our Durban office, the day-to-day management of the complexes continues to be handled by the local personnel. To aid with continuity many of the staff of CorPro were retained, but the administration of the properties was merged with the existing Wakefields Property Management systems.
